Roger turned away from Maureen and wiped the tears off of his face. "Yea...if you could do that..." He pulled the blanket tighter around Mimi and kissed her forehead. "We're gonna take care of you baby...I love you." He stood up and looked around for a cloth to wet. She had a cold sweat but she felt warm. He ran his fingers through his hair and pulled, something he did when stressed out. He took a wash cloth from the bathroom and wetting it with cool water and placed it on her forehead. "Don't worry..help's gonna come."

Maureen got off the bed and searched for the phone. She cursed under her breath while searching. Is it so hard to keep the phone in one place? It was pointless for her to ask really. After all, she was usually the one who moved it around. Throwing clothes everywhere and pushing aside random things she tore apart the room. Finally she found the phone sitting on a chair in the corner of the room. She picked it up and dialed 911 with her hands trembling. She was put on hold for what seemed like forever, even if it were only a couple of minutes. When someone finally answered she said they needed an ambulence and told them where they were. She hung up and went back to the bed. "They are coming now."

Roger nodded at Maureen's response. "Thanks...now what will we need...Can you pack some clothes? You'll know better than I would what sorts of outfits to pack." He walked around, trying to figure out if there was anything else that would be needed. He walked over to his counter and grabbed some AZT for himself. "Can you think of anything else we'll need? I'm just gonna run downstairs and grab Mimi's AZT.." He ran down the steps and looked for the bottle. Seeing it, he seemed skeptical if she'd been taking it. It looked just opened. He gave her the benefit of the doubt and hoping his thought was untrue. He ran back up the stairs into the apartment and he could hear the sirens in the distance. "They're almost here..."

"Sure." Maureen ran down a little after Roger and threw open her drawers. She picked up a bag she brought to carry clothes for work. The bag was small but she packed as much as she could. A pair of jeans, a pair of loose pants made of a soft material and three shirts. She packed some undergarments as well and ran back up to the room. "I'm coming too." She looked Roger in the eye. She wasn't asking him if she could come. She was telling him.

Roger sighed and almost wished she wouldn't come, but then he was happy because he had no idea how he'd act seeing Mimi lying helplessly in those hospital beds. "Sure.." He walked over to Mimi and whispered in her ear. "The ambulance is here...They'll take care of you. We're coming with you." He kissed her cheek and then handing the AZT to Maureen. "Put that in there. I'll go get them." He ran down the stairs and met the people. He explained the situation and what had happened, to the best of his knowledge, and led them upstairs. Once they got Mimi situated on the traveling stretcher, he followed them down the stairs. "Come on Maureen...I'll carry that." He grabbed the bag and quickly popped in his own AZT. He wish he had water, but now was not the time to get some. Once they entered the back of the ambulance Roger sat down beside her - or as close as he could get while the medics worked. He put his head in his hands, unable to fully comprehend what happened.

Maureen put the bottle in the bag and followed Roger into the ambulence. She held Mimi's hand as long as she could without being shoved away by paramedics. It seemed like a long drive to the hospital and Maureen had to lean against the wall on t he ambulence so she wouldn't lose her balance. When they arrived at the hospital Roger and maureen were not allowed to go into the room. Instead they had to wait in the waiting room. Maureen sat in a chair with her legs crossed. She stared at the candy machine sitting across from her and the nagging kid who was hitting the machine waiting for something to just fall out. She was close to getting up and smacking the kid across the face but refrained. Finally she turned her head to Roger. "Think she'll be alright?"

OOC: Joanne is here so I am just going to make a post and you guys can pull me in however!!
Joanne was the type of person that was stubborn and followed the rules. She liked order and discipline so naturally the job of a public interest lawyer would fit her and that is where she found herself, sitting behind a desk writing up some information for one of the cases her and Steve, one of the fellow lawyers that worked with her, were working on. Joanne had graduated from Harvard law school with highest honors and with the hopes of running her own firm, and moved into the city only a few years ago. Joanne didn't relize she had stared off out the window until Steve had come in and got her attention then after discussing some things with him she got back to work Only a few more hours to go

In the ambulance, Roger couldn't help but look at the medics' faces, trying to determine what they thought her fate may be. Once at the hospital, after much debate, the doctors wouldn't let Roger in. He went over by Maureen but wouldn't sit down. He paced back and forth, sipping some coffee he had found at a cheap vending machine. Hearing Maureen's question he stopped and thought. "I pray that she will be...I can't imagine me without her..." That was the truth - he'd been with her for some time and she had become such a part of his life, he couldn't bear to think of it without her. "What do you think?"

"I don't know." She looked at Roger. He had been pacing around for quite some time now. Getting very annoyed, she leaped up from her seat. "AND WILL YOU STOP PACING!?" She looked around at the other people in the room. The old lady who seemed deaf had put her book down and stared at her like the rest of the people. Even the little annoying kid at the candy machine and stopped whining. "WHAT?" With that she sat back down and crossed her arms. "I should call Joanne." She walked outside of the hospital to a pay phone and looked through her bag for some change. She called Joanne's office and waited for her to pick up.

"Hey, I'm at the hospital, Mimi took drugs again and hasn't been taking her AZT. I'll see you later. Love ya pookie." She hung up before Joanne could say anything. Then she made her way back to the waiting room. When she got back Roger was still pacing and the kid had went back to kicking the machine. She grabbed his shoulder turning him around and bringing him out of his trance. "Any news?"

Once they got Mimi to the hospital and in a room, the medics got her conscious. They did all the required assessments needed. They put an IV in, gave her some strong antibiotics, and checked her vitals. They weren't quite sure what was wrong, but they did tell her to keep off the drugs, and doubled her prescription for her AZT. As soon as they were about to leave Mimi spoke up, "Could you go get Roger and Maureen please? Also, how long do I need to be here?" The doctors replied with the usual, meaning she had to stay overnight so they could observe her. "I can't pay for this though, I..." But the doctors left before she could continue. Mimi sighed, she felt terrible, physically, mentally, emotionally. Half of her didn't even want to see Roger and Maureen, she was afraid of what they might say. She didn't want to have to think about what might happen. She felt a small withdrawal coming on, but then it went away. Probably because they had her on so many antibiotics and what not. She then closed her eyes and waited for them to come in.

The doctors came into the waiting room and called for Roger and Maureen. Maureen got up and walked over to them. They told her that Mimi had asked for them and told them the room she was in. Maureen walked down the halls timidly. She hated hospitals, they always made her feel uneasy. When she reached the room she walked in holding the door for Roger. She grabbed a chair and sat it down next to Mimi. "Hey, how are you feeling?"

Mimi's eyes opened as soon as she heard Maureen and Roger enter the room. She looked at Maureen. "Well let's just say, I've felt better. Thanks for asking. How are you two doing?" Mimi was trying to think of something that she could use to avoid the situation... That was kind of hard to do now, considering she was in a hospital. Mimi didn't even remember getting there. All she could remember was sitting on the park bench, and then that horrible dream. Thinking of that dream sent a shiver down her spine. She avoided eye contact with Roger, afraid of what he might say or do. She stole a glance at him though, and a sharp pain hit her in the chest. It's hard to explain how Mimi could feel this, but being apart of Roger's life for so long all she had to do was look at him and she knew how he felt and what he was thinking. Mimi then looked at Maureen, and Mimi couldn't feel any of Maureen's emotions or thoughts. Just warmth and this being within her that made Mimi smile.

Maureen smiled. "We're fine. Do you want me to get you anything? There's a candy machine in the waiting room. Not that I could possible get to it with that kid." She sighed. "I could get you a soda.." She looked at Mimi's face. It scared her. It was very pale and she looked so tired. "Are you sure you want us here, you should really get some rest so you can go home. Did the doctors say when you could come home?"
