Mimi couldn't believe what just happened. Mimi decided not to follow her again, but Mimi needed to see how much she took. Mimi raced up the stairs, and threw her apartment door open. She rushed towards the box and opened it. She dumped out its contents and counted. "1, 2, 3......8, 9...10....That's it....She took 5 bags.....Oh my god.....Maureen!" Mimi stuffed all the bags back in the box and tossed a shirt over it. Once again, she flew up the stairs. She banged on Roger and Mark's door. "Roger? Mark? ROGER! MARK! Open up! Help! It's Maureen!" Woah, dejavue...Except it's not me this time...It's Maureen..."Please, open up! Mark she needs you!"

It hadn't taken Maureen long before she was able to meet up with someone to give her everything she needed and help her. She took the syringe to her arm and paused. Is this really what I want to do? Finally she decided it was. Before long she was in her own little world and she was happy.

Roger saw Mark walk into the room and he smiled. "Morning, want some lovely instant coffee?" He chuckled softly and sat there sipping his coffee. Do I say anything about last night? eh, might as well, get it over with. "Mark, about last night, I mean, if you want to forget about it you can but...I just want to let you know that I'm sorry about anything I did and thanks for being with me when I was drunk..I'm a horrible drunk" He chuckled grimly and moved as if he was going to say but then someone was banging on the door and he realized that it was Mimi's voice. He felt his heart flutter but realized now was probably not the time. He put down his coffee cup and ran to the door. He saw the familiar hair, legs, mouth, eyes, everything that he was missing, like going through withdrawal but hurting more and unable to get better. But what caught his attention most was the ring on her finger. "You read it..." A smile of relief came over his face but then he shook it away. "What's the matter? Where's Maureen?"

Mark turned around at the sound of Mimi's cries. 'Maureen? Where is she?' he asked nervously, his voice shaking a little as he went over to Mimi. 'What's going on? Please...tell me.'
What ever little colour that was in his face, as he grabbed onto Mimi's shoulders loosely.

Mimi was glad Roger notice the ring, but when Mark grabbed onto her, she shook herself, and brought herself back. "Maureen, she, she took my stash. She took about 5 bags....Mark, she'll die if she takes all that at once, and...It's all my fault." Mimi then explained all that had happened, and how she even offered her some. "Mark, you've got to find her. She probably went to the same guy I go for a needle and tie. He probably know where she is... I'll lead." Mimi headed out the door, hoping they would follow. Although her pace was quick she walked next to Roger. "I know I can't say much now since time matters, but I just wanted to say, I'm sorry, and I love you very much."

Mark was unable to say anything as he digested the information, then without much of a second thought he followed Mimi.
Let her be ok...please just...be safe Maureen, Mark thought in panic as he followed Mimi. He fought the urge to tell Mimi that this wasn't the time to bother with such things and that she should be focused on finding Maureen.

Roger listened as Mimi spilled the story and he could only stare at her in disbelief. "I thought you quit..." He shook his head and brushed off Mimi's apology. Say you love her - you do, you really do, but...it still hurts. "We'll talk about this later...Sorry isn't enough right now." He forced a smile before turning his attention back to the street they were now on and Roger headed towards the Cat Scratch Club - where the guy usually showed up. The dark alleys and many dead end streets provided perfect cover for the dealing. The club was rapidly approaching and Roger's eyes strained, looking for the guy. "Where the hell is he?"

"I did...I'm just trying to get rid of it, by selling...." Mimi frowned when he said sorry wasn't good enough. "He should be right over here." Mimi glanced over to his usual spot, and yet he wasn't there. "Huh... Funny, he usual doesn't leave this spot till 6, unless..." Mimi paused, "Unless he's helping someone, a first timer....Maureen...." Mimi flashed back to her first time with the drugs, he was selling them way back then too, he helped her then. "He could be....A couple blocks down, in the alley, where I first started, but let's ask around here first." Mimi ran over to one of the girls that danced with Mimi. "Hey, have you seen him? You know who I mean..." The girl replied with a 'no'. Mimi moved onto an impatient druggie nearby. This time Mimi got a different answer, he said he saw him about 10 minutes ago, and how he had to go help some girl....He laughed, and added, newbies....

Mark felt mad, but his worry and fear for Maureen's safety consumed that anger. As much as Collins and Roger had teased him about not being over Maureen, it was all true and Mark didn't care. He hoped that she wasn't doing the drugs, that fear caused him to run ahead of Mimi and Roger.

"But why would you have it in the first place?! You know what, forget it." Roger was disappointed but he tried to shrug it off. She's not what's important right now. Finding Marueen is. He listened to Mimi asking around and he felt uncomfortable with her comfort with him. Then he saw Mark run ahead and he turned his his between the two of them and chased after Mark. He was sprinting to catch up and found himself soon enough right behind Mark. His head kept turning as the alleys were passing and then by the third or fourth alley - he lost count - he saw shadowy figures. He grabbed Mark's shirt, yanking him to a stop. "In there. GO." Hesitating to follow, he decided to wait for Mimi to catch up.

He let out a little squeak, ready to flail his arms as Roger grabbed him. If it weren't for the moving shadows and Roger's voice he would have probably socked Roger in the face. Instead he broke free and ran after the figures, hoping it was Maureen and that she hadn't used any yet.

Maureen was oblivious to her surroundings now. She was laying on the ground with her head leaning against a brick wall. Suddenly someone who was with her started running out of the alley but it didn't phase her. She smiled as she lay there looking around at a world that only existed in her head. Another person was running towards her now, she didn't care and hardly noticed anything.

He noticed Maureen and rushed towards her, in his state of panic, he gathered her in his arms and pressed his head into her shoulder, trying hard to keep himself from crying.
'Thank god...I was worried,' he said, though his throat felt thick with tears. 'Maureen? Are you...okay?'

Maureen smiled barely conscious. She didn't notice Mark taking her into his arms and mumbled random words. She tried pushing away from him but was hitting him very lightly and didn't accomplish anything. Finally she passed out and laid motionless in Mark's arms.

He felt the shift of weight, lifting his head to see that Maureen passed out. Mark held her close, fearfully, not wanting to let go.
'Roger! Roger come here!' he shouted, needing help, wanting it. Carefully and trying his best not to panic, Mark pulled Maureen into his arms, so that he craddled her, not sure if he should just pick her up and rush to the Loft.
