Joanne finished up work and left the office. She had no clue where she was heading but was suprised when she found herself at the loft. She went up to Roger's apartment and knocked on the door. If he didn't answer she would just head to the Life Cafe or home.

After having a few drinks and random hook ups, he managed to stumble home, with a 6-pack in his right hand. It was only noon-ish but he didn't care. Nothing mattered anymore. He walked up the stairs, using the left side of his body to support him. When he reached the top of the stairs, he saw Joanna standing there, knocking on his door. His eyes glazed and his speech was slurred "Heyyy Joaaanne. Whaaaat are youuuuuuu doing here" He tried to find the right key for the hole but he couldn't seem to find it. He started laughing and gave the keys to Joanne. "Why..haha don't...haha you tryyyyyyy"

She turned and saw Roger, judging by his speech he was drunk "Hi Roger...just wanted to come check on you" Should have got here sooner, maybe have kept him sober. She took his keys and opened the door with no problem then helped him inside "How much did you drink?"

Roger finally got control of his laughing and stumbled inside. He placed the beer down on the counter and pulled one out, managing to open it. He gulped down about half. ((i'm not writing his speech slurred like that, but it is)) He tried thinking of how to answer Joanne, but nothing came out right. "Let's see. I lost count at five after that one girl.." He looked at Joanne and opened a beer for her. "You want?" He downed the rest of his and opened another one.

Joanne looked at him as he opened the beers "I see and you don't think you have had enough?" She took the beer from him although she couldn't didn't hold alcohol worth anything. "Have you seen Mimi or Maureen?" She asked taking a small sip of the drink in her hand. She watched Roger down the beers wondering how he could drink like that.

Roger started to really feel the alcohol affect his body, but he needed to get Mimi out of his mind. He tried sleeping, but she haunted him in his dreams, he tried thinking about his guitar but then he remembered her song. It seemed as if everything that he had reminded him of Mimi. He gulped down some more beer and his brain finally recognized her question after a few minutes. "Nope. Not since the hospital. I was out, gettin' some girls" He shook his body and swivled down. He was dead drunk. Utterly and completely drunk. Then something snapped in his mind. He fell to the floor and screamed out "why..? WHY GOD DAMNIT!". And he just started bawling, so loud that people across the street closed their windows. He swallowed the rest of the beer but tears kept streaming down his face. He walked over to Joanne and burried his head in her shoulder. "Why? WHY! I love her, gave her all I could even my heart and soul, and she just gives it back like it didn't mean anything. Why me, Joanne...Why me."

Joanne looked at Roger, she had never seen him like this. She was suprised when his head ended up on her shoulder. She gently wrapped her arms around him. "I don't know why it happened Roger, I really though Mimi loved you. You two went through so much to be together." She stood there holding him letting him cry. She helped him to sit down on the couch "Just take it easy now" She sat next to him.

Mark walked into the building from his ever so lovely visit from Scarsdale. He was beat, the last few days were rough for him between his mother, sister and father. Stepping through the door, Mark was not expecting the scene before him, he immediately jump to a conclusion.
Roger and Joanne...together? What happened to Mimi or Maureen? he thought, then he noticed Roger's tears and panicked Did something happened to Mimi?
'Roger...what happened?' he asked approaching the two. 'Where's Mimi?'

Joanne looked up at Mark as he spoke, she saw the panicked look, turning her gaze to look at Roger he was in no state to speak and if he did it came out really slurred or loud full of tears and/or full of rage. She looked up at the film maker and spoke "Mimi is fine she is with..." She froze hating to say it but finished her sentence "Maureen."

Mark stepped back, looking stunned and quite sick. Mimi with Maureen? He didn't know what to say, it hurt him as much as it hurt the two of them. Mark turned his eyes away.
'I...I'm sorry,' he said. There was some truth to what he said, but he had warned Joanne about Maureen...but Mimi...she was everything to Roger.

Joanne shrugged and looked back at Roger. She knew what Maureen was like, she hated her flirting and cheating but felt really bad for Roger. "We both know what Marueen is capable of but I would never imagined her going after Mimi..." She looked back Mark "Or Mimi actully leaving Roger to be with her."

Mark nodded feeling the awkwardness in the situation. He peered over at his best friend, who was completely distraught. It was hard to see him like this...again, he had hoped that Roger would never be seen like this again, once was enough.
'I wish I could help some way...' he said and wanted to add, but I'm still healing myself.

Roger saw Mark walk in the door. He had missed so much going on, and now he chose to show up. His voice let out a whoarse whisper. "M..Mark..." He broke away from Joanne and then stood up, shaking. He grabbed the unempty beer and gulped it back down and opened another one before moving back to the couch. He held the beer in his hands while rocking back and forth. He couldn't bear to listen to this conversation, but when he heard Joanne say that Mimi was with Maureen, he started bawling. Usually he'd be punching a wall open at this time, but thankfully the extremely drunken stupor just made him overly sentimental Yesterday he had tried to be strong and not cry at the hospital, and the anger was released, just leaving a depressed man behind. He looked up at Mark, finally speaking, his voice just a drunken whisper. "Me..me..meme.mi..mimi." He fell into another round of sobs and held the beer to his mouth as if it was a bottle. He appeared to be in another world, still rocking back and forth, and sipping his beer.

Joanne watched him unsure what he would do. When he sat down she rubbed his back lightly and spoak to him quietly "Take it easy, just calm down." She focused on keeping him calm, unsure what else to do.
