Day 2

Post by Roger Davis on Mar 13, 2006 16:50:38 GMT -5
Roger sat silent for a moment. The silence seemed awkward, but he didn't want to say anything. Mark had missed one of the larger moments in his life where he really wished he was there. Mark knew him so well, and it hurt that everything had to happen when Mark had been away. He stood up and grabbed his leather jacket, but had to grab his head and steady himself for a moment. He was still drunk but he was aware of his surroundings. "I need to go." He paused while walking out of the door. "for a walk," he added as an afterthought. He needed to get out of his apartment again; he felt too confined in there. He walked briskly down the street and just wanted to clear his head. He wasn't too steady on his feet but he kept walking. He passed the Cat Scratch Club and wondered if Mimi was there yet but he didn't look. If she was, he couldn't handle to see her yet. Why..? was the question that continually rang through his head.

Post by Mark Cohen on Mar 16, 2006 21:01:13 GMT -5
Mark watched Roger leave, not saying anything. He figured that Roger just needed some time alone to collect his thoughts and try to push past this. Sighing, trying to make sense of what happened, Mark went to the couch and sat down, looking at Joanne with a face as if saying, 'Can today get any worse?'

'Yeah...crazy...' he muttered, looking down. He really didn't know what to say, this was Joanne...the one that Maureen left him for...what could he say to her? They could relate in a way now. Now, that Maureen had left them both.

Mark folded his hands on his knees and kinda bounced them nervously, obviously uncomfortable. 'Things are...ok...I guess they could be better. I'm sorry...I thought that Maureen would change...but I guess not...' he trailed off and then as an after thought he added, 'Sorry.'

Roger started to feel numb - physically and mentally. He had no more emotions left, besides letting Mimi go. He wanted her back but in that moment he saw something in her eyes that scared him - like she didn't want him. He looked at the clock and he wasn't out for too long but he wanted to be home, in a comfortable place. He walked back towards the apartment building, pausing in front of the building. He looked up and saw Mimi's flat, below his and Mark's. He sighed and walked up the flights of stairs to their apartment, taking more time outside of Mimi's apartment. He tried to hear something, anything, to see if she was moving on and would forget him. He shook the thought out of his head. He opened the door and saw Joanne and Mark talking. "What do you guys want to do tonight?" ooc: brilliant idea...mimi and maureen should run into mark roger and joanne and the life cafe before mimi had to go to work. THat'd be interesting.

"It's okay...some people never change..." Joanne looked down unsure what else there was to be said. She looked up at Roger when he came back in and shrugged "I'm not doing anything so it dosen't matter..."

(I hope this is okay... Don't forget to read the announcement about Mimi under the Random board)
Mimi got up from the couch when she saw Maureen come threw the door with her wallet in hand. She walked over to her and hugged her. "I just need to be held right now. I don't know what to do." Mimi looked into Maureen's eyes. She couldn't read them like she could Roger's. Yet she felt something. Or she thought she did.
(got to go, my parents are yelling at me)

Maureen smiled gently and wrapped her arms around her. She rested her head on Mimi's and ran her fingers through her hair. "Hey, what about we go to the Life Cafe." She walked over to a chair and picked up a long grey coat. Maureen draped it over Mimi's shoulders and then got her own coat. She put her shoulders around Mimi and guided her out the door and down the damp streets towards the cafe.

Roger smiled, well, a sort of a crooked smile. "Let's go. I..I just need to get out of this apartment. He went into his room, grabbed his wallet. He had some cash, especially thanks to the ATM at the food emporium when he got stuck. He put his leather jacket back on, wound his scarf around his neck and then headed towards the door. "I'm starving." He felt better now, after the walk. Maybe he should exercise more - it felt good.

Post by Maureen Johnson on Mar 21, 2006 22:13:48 GMT -5
(OOC: I'm just going to use my username for Mimi since it's easier than going into Shelby's. So Maureen is purple and Mimi is teal.)
Maureen and Mimi walked into the life cafe and sat down at an empty table by a window. It was starting to snow. "Order whatever you want, it's on me." Maureen smiled at Mimi placing her hand over hers. She looked down at the table and smiled. Her eyes met Mimi's "I love you."
Mimi stared at Maureen for a moment unsure of what to think. Maureen was one to hit on every girl she saw and all they did was spend one night in Mimi's loft. However, she just couldn't help but smile. She thought for a moment before replying "I love you too." A waiter came over to the table and Mimi ordered tea thanking Maureen for paying.
